Historic Apache Trail re-opens

Apache Trail reopens following two months of repair work

GLOBE – A four-mile segment of State Route 88, the historic Apache Trail, is scheduled to open at 6 p.m. today (Jan. 21). The highway has been closed since November between Tortilla Flat and Apache Lake for repairs to storm-damaged retaining walls and roadway sections. ADOT will continue working through February with intermittent weekday closures of up to 20 minutes.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 5-1-1.

Project information is available at 602-712-8069 or online at AZDOT APACHE TRAIL .
