Former PHS State Heavyweight Champ dies at age 29

Blair River, known as a big man with a big heart, died Tuesday, March 1 at the age of 29. At the time of his death River was living in Mesa. He worked as a financial advisor at the University of Mesa and had gained famed over the past year as a spokesman for the Heart Attack Grill. At 6-feet, 8-inches, River weighed 575 pounds.
River was the State Heavyweight Wrestling Champ in 1999 when he was a senior at Payson High School . He went on to play football at Mesa Community College.
The cause of death is not yet known.
