Two Chandler residents arrested
Payson Police, responding to a report of a disturbance at a local motel, Friday, March 11, arrested two Chandler residents on numerous drug charges and misconduct involving a weapon.
Jonathan Savery, 28, and Meena Khattak, 34, were each charged with Possession of Narcotic Drugs for Sale, Possession and Use of Marijuana, Possession and Use of Dangerous Drugs, Possession and Use of a Narcotic Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphenalia, Possession and Use of Vapor Releasing Substance and Misconduct Involving a Weapon.
According to the police report, responding officers identified a smell of burning marijuana coming from the couple's room and obtained a search release for the room as well as a rental car they had driven.
Special Enforcement Unit Detectives assisting with patrol seized approximately 30 grams of cocaine, an ounce of marijuana, ecstasy tablets, 11 grams of heroin and numerous cans of nitrous oxide used for "huffing". Detectives also seized related drug paraphenalia and a handgun.
The investigation is ongoing.
