Ponderosa Campground opens April 1, has new entrance

The US Forest Service will be opening the Ponderosa Campground for the summer season beginning April 1, 2011.  Motorists will travel through an active construction zone at Little Green Valley to reach the new entrance to the campground.  The entrance to the campground will not be paved but access will be maintained at all times. The entrance to the campground will be clearly marked as well as the access route from SR 260. Please be aware of workers and equipment near the roadway while traveling to and from the campground. There is no passing in the construction zone and speed limit is reduced to 45 miles per hour.
