DPS to host Special Olympics BBQ April 21

DPS hosts its Barbeque and Raffle for Champions, in support of the Special Olympics

We welcome the public to join us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, April, 21-

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is proud to announce its Barbeque and Raffle being held at the DPS Headquarters in support of the Special Olympics, Thursday, April, 21, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event has raised nearly $20,000 dollars in the past, largely supported by DPS and state employees. This year we want to ensure the public is aware that they are more than welcome to come and participate. El Toro Barbeque will be providing the food this year. All proceeds benefit the Special Olympics.

On display will be our DPS Air Rescue Helicopter and crew, SWAT Team, K-9 Officers and dogs, Motorcycle officers, Bomb Squad, and much more. The event is located in the north parking lot of the DPS Headquarters at 2102 W. Encanto Blvd. in Phoenix. Parking is available to the east and west of our headquarters with shuttles assisting with transporting individuals from the parking lots to the event.
