Celebrate the Mexican victory at the Battle of Pueblo May 5

The Cinco de Mayo celebration always begins on May 5th in commemoration of the Battle of Pueblo where the Mexican victory against the over powering and staggering odds of French soldiers took place at the Battle of Pueblo on May 5, 1862.

The Payson Public Library at 328 N. McLane Road will offer Lucy's Tacos to Go from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The "to go" lunch features two tacos, rice, beans, salsa and chips for $6. From 4 to 5 p.m. the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta continues at the library with master storyteller Alice Natale reading "Mariposa Mariposa". Refreshments, pinatas, crafts and face painting are part of the library's fiesta and it's all free!

The Payson Senior Center at 514 W. Main will have a Cinco de Mayo luncheon that features chicken enchiladas, pinto beans, zucchini, Spanish rice and flan. Seniors over 60 are requested to make a $3 donation. Those under 60 are asked to donate $6. Reservations should be made in advance by calling (928) 474-4876.

Moose Lodge at Highway 260 in Star Valley has a Dinner Special starting at 5 p.m.
