Good Samaritan Prevents Distraught Woman
From Jumping Off Midgley Bridge

Flagstaff AZ- On Thursday, May 20, 2011 at about 12:15 p.m. the Sedona Fire 911 Reception Center received the report of a woman who was attempting to commit suicide by jumping off of Midgley Bridge .  The Sedona Fire Department, Sedona Police Department and a Coconino County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the bridge.  The Sheriff’ Deputy learned that before his arrival the thirty year-old woman of Sedona was standing on the outside of the south guardrail of Midgley Bridge, threatening to commit suicide saying “I don’t want to be in this world”.  A good Samaritan approached the woman and convinced her not to kill or injure herself.  The woman was transported to a medical center by the Sedona Fire Department.
