Memorial Day Activities in the Rim Country

 Friends, neighbors and visitors alike, you are all cordially invited to attend one or more of the Memorial Day Tributes being offered in our community.  Memorial Day is a special time set aside for all American Patriots to reflect, remember and re-dedicate.  Take a small slice of your time to pay tribute to our American Veterans.

Patriotic Tributes and Ceremonies:
Saturday, May 28, Sunrise: Annual Pioneer Cemetery Tribute
Sunday, May 29, 10 a.m.: Annual Mountain Meadows Tribute in Round Valley
sponored by Messengers Funeral Home and supported by the Payson Patriotic Events Committee, VFW, and American Legion
Monday, May 30, 8 a.m. at Flag Raising Ceremony at Mazatzal Hotel and Casino:  patriotic music and ceremony to follow.
Monday, May 30, 10 a.m. Memorial Day Tribute in Green Valley Park presented by the Payson Patriotic Events Committee: Patriotic music, Presentation of Colors, address by Payson Mayor Kenny Evans and guest speakers, a tribute by Payson Military Honor Guard which will include a rifle salute and taps.

Hellsgate Fire Department Auxiliary "Fireflies" Memorial Weekend Breakfast and Bake Sale
Firestation #22 in Tonto Village (one mile on Control Road off Highway 260) 8 to 11 a.m.

Beaver Valley Days: A Day at the Beach starts with a Pancake Breakfast 8 to 10 a.m., Firefighters Water Olympics 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Food, crafts, volleyball and an outdoor movie at 8 p.m.

Mt. High Days Arts and Crafts/Greater Grace Fellowship, Gila County Courthouse Parking Lot in Payson, May 28-30

31st Annual Memorial Day Arts and Crafts Festival, Pine Community Center, Highway 87 and Randall Place in Pine, Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Blind Draw Horseshoe Tournament Fundraiser and Deep Pit BBQ, Payson Masonic Lodge, 200 E. Rancho Road in Payson. Call (928) 970-1169 for information.

Dutch Oven Gathering at 1 p.m. in Rumsey Park Ramada #3. Bring a Dutch oven and a favorite recipe and fixin's. Preparation and cooking starts at 1 p.m. Food service begins at 5 p.m.

Saturday Night Live Music with Vyktoria Pratt-Keating at Rimside Grill, 3270 N. Hwy. 87 in Pine.  Entertainment begins at 6 p.m.

Laser Bowl features music and extreme lighting, 9 p.m. to midnight, $10 per person includes three hours of bowling and show rental. Rim Country Lanes, 1109 N. Beeline in Payson
