Governor orders flags flown at half staff Wednesday, June 8 for Pfc John Corey Johnson

Pfc John Corey Johnson, 28, of Phoenix, was killed May 27 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan

Governor Brewer has ordered the flags at all offices and facilities of the State of Arizona lowered to half staff on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from sunrise to sunset in honor of Private First Class John Corey Johnson, 28, of Phoenix, Arizona, who died May 27 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.  Pfc Johnson died of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire.

Funeral services for Pfc Johnson are scheduled for Wednesday June 8th at 2pm at the Orangewood Nazarene Church, 7510 North 27th Ave Phoenix, AZInterment to follow at Arizona National Memorial Cemetery

Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.
