Bring your chili or cook it on site - compete in one of two categories!
The Payson Pro Rodeo Committee invites participants to join in its first Annual Chili Cook-off Sunday, July 3, at the Payson Event Center.
Participants in the People's Choice category can bring their chili in. Two to three gallons of chili will be needed. Chili in this category is not limited to ingredients. The top three winners voted by the people will receive awards. Entry fee for People's Choice Chili is $10. Serving of the People's Choice Chilis begins at 11 a.m.
Participants in the Casi Sanctioned Red Chili category must cook their chili on site and the chili can only contain beef and spices. Entry fee for Casi Sanctioned Red Chili is $15. Serving of Red Casi Chili begins at 2 p.m. The top ten chilis in this category will receive awards.
Awards will be presented at 4 p.m.
The public is invited to attend this first ever event. $4 buys a cup, a spoon and a ticket to vote for their favorite People's Choice Chili. Wine tasting will be provided by Southern Wine and Spirits of Arizona.
