U.S. 60 near Springerville re-opens

ADOT re-opens U.S. 60 through Springerville and portions of SR 260 in Eager, cautions drivers to watch for fire crews and to be alert for reduced visability

PHOENIX – In coordination with incident management officials and the Apache County Sheriff’s Office, the Arizona Department of Transportation has reopened US 60 through Springerville and portions of State Route 260 in Eager. The highways had been closed as a result of the Wallow Fire in northeastern Arizona. 

State Route 260 remains closed from Horseshoe Lake to South Fork Junction (milepost 390) for fire operations.  State Routes 261, 273 and 373 also remain closed. US 180 from Springerville to the New Mexico State Line and US191 from milepost 253 to milepost 176 both remain closed.


Drivers in the area are advised to watch for fire crews and to be alert for reduced visibility as a result of smoke.
