Wallow Fire update - Evacuation lifted for Luna, New Mexico

Firefighters continue to have problems battling the fire on the southern flank

Firefighting on the southern flank of the Wallow Fire continues to be a problem and Blue River residents remain on evacuation orders while residents in Luna, New Mexico were allowed to return to their homes Tuesday night (June 21).
As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, containment was reported to be at 58 percent with total acreage burned at 529,825.
ADOT has reopened some roads that had been closed since June 2 (see the story below).
