Weather delays Monday night’s work; highway narrowed to one lane overnight Tuesday
The Arizona Department of Transportation will reduce southbound Interstate 17 to one lane overnight from 8 p.m. Tuesday (July 19) to 9 a.m. Wednesday (July 20), two miles south of Black Canyon City. The lane closure was rescheduled from Monday night to Tuesday night due to weather conditions.
The lane closure will provide a safe work zone as crews continue work to construct a new bridge over Little Squaw Creek. The speed limit through the work zone will be reduced to 10 mph and drivers should be prepared for delays up to 30 minutes. Vehicles will be limited to a maximum width of 10 feet. Officers and flaggers will be on site to direct traffic through the work zone.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
