Weekend information for drivers on I-10

TRAVEL ALERT: Freeway improvement work requires overnight closures of I-10 at 35th Ave. in Phoenix

On-ramps at 27th and 43rd avenues impacted; lane restrictions also scheduled as crews install new message boards to aid drivers

ADOT is continuing a freeway improvement project that involves installing new electronic overhead message boards along the Interstate 10 corridor in the metro Phoenix area. This weekend work is scheduled on I-10 at 35th Avenue. Expect delays and consider alternate routes as the following restrictions are in place:
  • Eastbound I-10 closed at 35th Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday, September 23 to 9 a.m. Saturday, September 24. Drivers will use the 35th Avenue off- and on-ramps to exit and return to I-10.
  • On-ramp at 43rd Avenue to eastbound I-10 closed from 10 p.m. Friday, September 23 to 11 p.m. Saturday, September 24. Detour: Drivers may use Van Buren Street to 19th Avenue to access eastbound I-10.
  • Eastbound I-10 narrowed to three lanes at 35th Avenue from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, September 24.
  • Westbound I-10 closed at 35th Avenue from 10 p.m. Saturday, September 24 to 9 a.m. Sunday, September 25. Drivers will use the 35th Avenue off- and on-ramps to exit and return to I-10.
  • On-ramp at 27th Avenue to westbound I-10 closed from 10 p.m. Saturday, September 24 to 10 p.m. Sunday, September 25. Detour: Drivers may use Van Buren Street to 43rd Avenue to access westbound I-10.
  • Westbound I-10 narrowed to three lanes at 35th Avenue from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, September 25.
