Payson Lioness Club Spaghetti Dinner
A benefit spaghetti
dinner will be held for the Veterans Helping Veterans on Thursday, June 14 from
4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by the
Payson Lioness Club, the dinner will be hosted at the Payson Senior Center, 514
W. Main Street.
Listen to jazz at the Ayothaya Thai Café
The Payson Jazz Trio will play jazz tunes from the American Songbook at
the Ayothaya Thai Café on Friday, June 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The band features Vern Juran on guitar, Gerry
Reynolds on drums and Bob Smolenski on the keyboard. Ayothaya is located at 404 E. State Highway
260 across from the Safeway mall. For

Mogollon Garden Tour
The 2012 Mogollon
Garden Tour with artists/musicians in the garden takes place on Saturday, June
16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tour
highlights three homes in Payson, one in Star Valley and two in Pine. Follow the “Green Thumb” signs leading to
each home. Tickets are $5 each. Purchase tickets and pick up an information
brochure at Ace Hardware, Plant Fair Nursery, Sweet Nostalgia, Payson Jewelers,
or the Payson or Pine Public Library.

PATS Hike
Hike from the Payson
Event Center to the Peach Orchard Trail on Saturday, June 16 at 8 a.m. Meet at the south side of the event
center. The hike provides views of the
Mazatzal Mountains, passes an old mining site and goes through a riparian
area. The hike is over rocky terrain and
is of moderate difficulty. A shuttle
service will provide transportation back to the event center.
Mountain High Coffee Works
Christian jam session
Every
Saturday night at 6:30 p.m., the public is invited to the Payson Christian

Summer Concert at Green Valley Park
Blue Frog, a local
blues band, will perform on Saturday, June 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at a free
outdoor concert at Green Valley Park.
Turn of the Century Gala Affair
Somewhere in Time, the second annual Gala Affair for
the benefit of the Payson Senior Center Bus Transportation, will be held on
Saturday, June 16 at 7 p.m. at the Good Samaritan Society/ Majestic Rim, 310 E.
Tyler Parkway. Enjoy an evening of
elegance with turn of the century styles and early 1900s music, dancing and
hors d’oeuvres. Formal or time period
dress required. $15 per person or $25
per couple. Tickets may be purchased at

Father’s Day Barbecue Dinner at the Elks Lodge
The Payson Elks Lodge
#2164, 1206 N. Beeline Highway, will host a Father’s Day barbecue on Sunday,

Looking Ahead
Flycasters
sponsor cleanup on the East Verde River
The Payson Flycasters Chapter and Club will
sponsor a cleanup of the East Verde River on Saturday, June 23. Meet at the south end of the Home Depot
parking lot at 7 a.m. to carpool to the river.
Trash bags and bottled water will be available for all volunteers. Bring gloves, good hiking shoes, hats and
sunblock. The cleanup should be
completed by noon. Please note that the
Forest Service has built four-day use areas on the East Verde River, with
dumpsters, toilets and a campground host at each location. All are ready for use now. For more information, visit the Payson

Family Game Time at the Payson Public Library
Tired of the same things? Need to get out of the
house? Need ways to have a fun time with your family? Join us at the Payson Public Library, 328 N.
McLane Road, the last Saturday of each month from 2 to 4 p.m. Participate in board games for all ages,
enjoy the music and prize giveaways and partake of snacks and drinks. For questions or more information, contact

Monthly Video Game Tournament
Children ages 10 to 18 can participate in monthly
video game tournaments the last Saturday of each month at the Payson Public
Library, 328 N. McLane Road from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Winners get the “Ultimate Bragging
Rights.” Tournaments are held in the
meeting room. Sign up your child at the
Kid’s Room at the library or call: 474-9260.
