According to Payson Police Chief Don Engler, Dex has a bullet proof vest similar to the vests purchased in the Flagstaff story below. "The funds to purchase our K-9's vest were raised similar to what you are hearing about in Flagstaff," Engler said. "The Payson community donated the funds for our K-9's vests several years ago. These are great programs and the community is very supportive of this great need."

Coconino County Sheriff’s Office Receives
Ballistic Vest for Police K-9 Dogs

Flagstaff . AZ- On Friday, Jan. 28, Michael Valdez, president of Protect Police K-9, presented a ballistic vest to KiKo, one of two police dogs with the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office.  The cost of the vest, $825, was raised by the nonprofit organization based in Tucson.  Protect Police K-9 encouraged contributions from the Flagstaff area for the purchase of a ballistic vest for Victor, the other police dog and Flagstaff and Coconino County residents and organizations donated enough funds to purchase three ballistic vests. One of the vests will be presented to Victor at a later date and the other two will be presented to Arizona Law Enforcement Agencies that do not have vests for their K-9s.    For general information about Protect Police K-9, contact Michael Valdez - Michael.
