Firefighters report containment at 18 percent
Firefighters are now burning vegetation between the Wallow Fire and the fireline north of Road 180 in the Luna Lake fire camp area. This will continue as long as favorable weather conditions exist and will strengthen and connect firelines between zones one and two.
There are 4,734 personnel currently battling the blaze, including 24 Hot Shot crews and 77 hand crews. Equipment at the fire includes 73 water tenders, 20 dozers, 333 engines, 20 helicopters and five air tankers.
Residents in the area of Alpine, Luna Lake and Luna may experience more smoke than usual due to the burnout operations.
Residents in Greer, Nutrioso, and Alpine remain under evacuation orders.
One additional residence has been confirmed as destroyed, bringing the number of burned houses to 32. Four commercial properties have been burned.
Community meetings tonight, June 14, will be held at Round Valley High School in Eager, Arizona at 6 p.m. and at McNary Community Building in McNary, Arizona at 6 p.m.
