Pinal County Sheriff's Office seeks help solving cold case from 1979

In April 1979 10-year-old Randy Parscale, Jr. went missing while hiking with family members  by  Peppersauce Canyon Campground near the town of Oracle.  The Pinal County Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation into this cold case and seeks help from the public.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the missing person case of 10-year-old Randy Parscale Jr. (Case #79-2563)

Randy disappeared on April 7, 1979 after being separated from other family members while on a hiking trip to Peppersauce Canyon near the town of Oracle within Pinal County. Randy went to the Peppersauce Canyon Campground with his step grandfather, step uncle and stepbrother, (both of which were near Randy’s age). The three boys went hiking south from the campground at which time Randy became separated from the group.

A large scale search was conducted by several agencies and volunteers, but Randy was not located.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone with information about this case and, or if you were in the area of Peppersauce Canyon Campground the day Randy Parscale Jr. went missing to please contact PCSO Criminal Investigations Bureau at 520-866-5161 or Pinal County Silent Witness at 1-800-358-4636.
