Travel alert for drivers in the Valley this weekend

I-10 in Phoenix closed at US 60 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 - expect delays, use alternative routes

Eastbound I-10 (toward Tucson) will be closed between U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) and Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) from 10 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 1). The eastbound I-10 on-ramps at Baseline, Elliot, Warner and Ray Roads, at Chandler Boulevard, and the westbound US 60 ramp to eastbound I-10 also will be closed. Crews are replacing three massive overhead sign structures that span the eastbound travel lanes.

DETOUR: Use eastbound U.S. 60 to southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) to westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) to reconnect with I-10. Motorists heading to southern Arizona from California are advised to use eastbound I-10 to southbound State Route 85 to eastbound Interstate 8.
