Wallow Fire now at 519,319 acres - Cooler temps today, relative humidity 8 to 9 percent should aid firefighters
Despite a weekend of high winds and low relative humidity, firefighter made progress on the Wallow Fire bringing containment to 51 percent.
Air support started early this morning (Monday, June 20) and evacuation orders were lifted at 11 a.m. for Greer residents. Those returning home to Greer had to stop at the Round Valley High School Dome to provide valid identification verifying their addresses in order to receive passes.
Evacuation orders remain in place for residents of Blue River, Arizona and Luna, New Mexico.
In New Mexico, the fire has crossed Trout Creek and is moving toward Bishop Canyon.
In other news, the Vincent Fire, 22 miles west of Heber, burned 250 acres, but is reported to be 80 percent contained.
