Damage estimated at $12,450
On Thursday, Feb. 17, Payson Police began an investigation into numerous reports involving the spray painting of graffiti on buildings and vehicles in Payson.
The damage was believed to have been committed during the evening hours of Feb. 16. Police took a total of 12 reports with combined damage estimated at $12,450.

Martin Alpha Rose, 18, and Raheem Lajuan Royal, 18, both residents of Payson, were arrested and booked into the Gila County Jail on one count each of Felony Aggravated Criminal Damage, Felony Aggravated Criminal Damage, Felony Criminal Trespass and Misdemeanor Criminal Damage.
Sgt. Joni Varga along with patrol officers Brandon Buckner, Josh Slaughter and Matt Zimmerman developed the leads in the case, located the suspects and, upon contact, found evidence linking them to the graffiti damage.
Both suspects were questioned and confessed to committing the damage. Additional charges may be forthcoming from the Gila County Attorney's Office.
