Star Valley to continue funding for Meals on Wheels, will use HURF funds for Moonlight Drive
By Paty Henderson

Here's what went on at SV Town Council last night:
  • A report on the Meals-on-Wheels program was made. There has been a slight increase in the number of Star Valley residents using the service. Star Valley will continue funding and re-evaluate in the new fiscal year. Info for this program is available at Star Valley Town Hall or at the Senior Center.
  • A contractor for the first phase of resurfacing Moonlight Drive (from 260 to the bridge) was selected. This was given to Calvalry Paving out of Wickenburg, AZ. More information can be obtained at SV Town Hall. Money for this project comes from HURF funds (Highway-User Revenue Fund--Arizona Department of Transportation) such as fees from licenses and other related items.
  • It was decided that well monitoring analysis would be conducted by a qualified hydrology firm. Bids will be solicited.
Star Valley Councilman Gary Coon is putting together an Emergency Alert System. This system would be similar to one used by PUSD to notify students and parents of important messages. It would be used to notify residents in case of fire, road closure or some other emergency. Resident's information would never be sold or used in any other capacity. To add a name to the list, SV Town Hall can be contacted at (928) 472 - 7752. Councilman Coon hopes to have a rough system in place by early summer.
