Expect delays on US 60 Thursday and Friday

Bridge Work on US 60 near Gold Canyon will require lane restrictions

Intermittent lane closures for eastbound and westbound traffic on US 60 will take place Thursday (July 21) and Friday (July 22) as part of the bridge work in progress east of Peralta Road (milepost 206). In the past two weeks, a 24-hour lane closure has been in effect as crews have been working on resurfacing the bridge deck. In addition, crews will now begin work on the approaches to the bridge which will require additional lane restrictions for the remainder of the week.
This week’s lane restrictions for US 60 in the Gold Canyon area are as follows:
  • Right and left lanes on eastbound and westbound US 60 will be closing intermittently from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday (July 21) and Friday (July 22) between mileposts 208 and 211.
  • The segment of eastbound US 60 between mileposts 205 and 207 will be continue to be reduced to one lane 24-hours per day through the end of July. The lane closure will remain in place after work hours and during weekends. What to expect during work hours:Crews will work from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph through the construction zones.
  • Access to the Gold Canyon community, particularly at Kings Ranch Road, Mountainbrook Drive and Superstition Mountain Drive, will not be restricted.
  • Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
  • The bridge work is part of a 12-mile repaving project on US 60 from Siphon Draw to SR 79 in Gold Canyon.Proceed through the work zone with caution. The project schedule is subject to change due to a variety of reasons, including weather, material availablity and mechanical difficulties.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
