Erosion control work on southbound I-17 requires lane restriction south of Black Canyon City

Highway narrowed to one lane Saturday and Sunday

The Arizona Department of Transportation will close the left lane of southbound I-17 from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 9 two miles south of Black Canyon City, milepost 239.

The lane closure will provide a safe work zone as crews apply seeds to control erosion on the slopes adjacent to the recently completed bridge over Little Squaw Creek. The speed limit through the work zone will be reduced with minimal delays.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
