"Moneyball" is the true story of Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane's successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players.
Movie Reviewer Andy McKinney gives this sports flick his highest rating - 4 SAWBLADES!
Andy says, "This is an interesting and very offbeat look at the world of baseball. The trick here is to make a story about baseball statistics interesting, and excellent and proven writer Aaron Sorkin does just that.
This week, the Payson Daily Bugle is giving our viewers a double feature. Andy has added his comments on another 4-Sawblade film at Payson's Sawmill Theatre, "Ides of March," a topic worthy of our times.
Andy says, “Ides of March” is at once one of the best made films of the year - and one of the most unsatisfying. The film is partly written and partly produced by one of the most watched actors of today. George Clooney, a genuine Hollywood superstar, also directs and stars in this one. He has displayed a range of abilities that take him from action star to comic to very serious drama about a very serious business. This film is a very serious drama, and one so well done that the Venice International Film Festival granted it the very serious Brian Prize earlier this year."
