Payson's Col. Bill Sahno inducted into Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame

Longtime Payson resident Colonel, US Marine Corps,  (Retired) William (Bill) Sahno, was inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame in Phoenix Friday, October 28.  Presenting the award to Sahno is Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett (left) and Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services Director Joey Strickland


Colonel, U.S. Marine Corps, (Retired) William (Bill) Sahno was among 17 Arizona veterans to be inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Friday for their continued service to their communities. For the past 18 years Sahno has been involved in patriotic events in Payson, serving as a member and now chairman of the Payson Patriotic Events Committee. He is a charter member of the Rim Country Marine Corps League Detachment, a member of the Payson Satellite Chapter, Military Officers Association of America. He plans and carries out many patriotic and volunteer veteran activities and events throughout the year and shares information for veterans via email and news releases to the media. Sahno is a regular contributor to the Payson Daily Bugle's Veterans Page.

  1. Colonel Bill Sahno is a great American. Although he retired after a very distinguished career, he continues to serve the Veterans of Arizona. Col. Sahno is very much deserving of this award. Semper Fidelis. Master Guns
