Payson Police, FBI, Sheriff's K-9s search for suspect in Saturday's bank robbery

Suspect ran from Wells Fargo Bank in Payson in a southerly direction
On Saturday, Jan. 21, at 3:19 p.m. the Payson Police Department received a 911 call and distress alarm from the Wells Fargo Bank Payson branch at 115 E. Highway 260, indicating there was an armed robbery.
Officers responded and arrived within two minutes and received information that the suspect had run from the bank in a southerly direction. The officers secured a perimeter in the area of S. Goodnow and E. Bonita.
A police K-9 training was being held in Payson and there were several K-9’s in attendance from the Gila County Sheriff’s Department as well as other departments. They immediately responded to assist and K-9 searches were conducted of the area near S. Goodnow for the suspect. Once that was completed, officers from the Payson Police Department Special Response Team conducted further door-to-door searches of the residences in that neighborhood.
As is normal procedure the Federal Bureau of Investigation was contacted and responded and is currently involved in the joint investigation.
As of this time the suspect has not been located.
