Full containment of Bull Flat Fire expected today

Bull Flat Fire closure ends today
Area closure order is terminated at noon today

Young, Ariz. (May 24, 2012) – Tonto National Forest officials announced that the temporary closure for the Bull Flat fire is terminated today, effective at noon.  

The lightning-caused Bull Flat fire began on May 10, approximately 9 miles northeast of Young, Ariz.  Full containment of the fire at 2,145 acres is expected Friday, May 25.  Fire specialists continue to monitor the area.

“We urge caution for forest visitors due to extreme wildfire danger conditions,” emphasized Don Luhrsen, Pleasant Valley district ranger. 

“We continue to remind everyone who has recreation plans on the forest for the upcoming holiday weekend that fire restrictions are in effect on the Tonto National Forest.  All fireworks are prohibited at all times on national forests” concluded Luhrsen.
