Wildfire south of Superior closes SR 177

Fire near Superior forces closure on State Route 177
                                                                                          
PHOENIX – A new wildfire south of Superior has forced the closure of State Route 177 in Pinal County today, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

ADOT is working with fire officials to ensure the safety of drivers and is assisting with traffic control. The closure is from mileposts 162-168.

There is no estimated time to reopen the highway.

ADOT advises drivers who wish to travel between Superior and Winkelman to use U.S. 60 and State Route 77 through Globe.
