Fatal Crash near Burnt Wells Rest Area on I-10 kills seven

That crash pushed both vehicles into a culvert on the eastbound right shoulder and the vehicles caught on fire.

The first report indicated there were at least two fatalities. Two people were known to have been  airlifted to a valley hospital. Later reports indicated that seven were killed and two traveling in the semi were hospitalized.
