I-17 south of Sunset Point partially closed due to mud slides

Lane closure today on southbound Interstate 17 south of Sunset Point

ADOT crews clearing mudslides


Heavy rain on Sunday caused several mudslides on southbound Interstate 17 between Sunset Point and Black Canyon City. The left lane on southbound I-17 south of Sunset Point (mileposts 251 – 247) will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. today as ADOT crews clear the roadway.

The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph and brief delays are expected.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
