holds Job Fair
There will be a Job Fair on Saturday, July 14
from 8 a.m. to noon at the Payson Messinger Community Room, 901 S. Westerly
Road. The fair is sponsored by the
Northern Gila County Economic Development Corporation and the Rim Country
Chamber of Commerce. The fair is open to any Rim Country resident or
business. Interested businesses must

who need employees to meet eligible applicants in the Rim Country.

Driver Safety class
There will be an AARP Driver Safety class on
Saturday, July 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Payson Senior Center, 215 N.
Beeline Highway. Cost is $14 and $5 for
anyone who works in the education field.

Big Daddy D and the Dynamites at the summer concert
series in the park
Big Daddy D and the
Dynamites, a five-piece, high-energy, rhythm and blues band will play at the
Green Valley Park summer concert series on Saturday, July 14 from 7 to 9
p.m. The Dynamites won the Arizona Blues
Showdown in 2007 and a place onstage at the annual International Blues
Challenge in Memphis in 2008. Based in
Prescott, the band has built a solid reputation for delivering a strong catalog
of original songs.
Krispy Kreme doughnuts for sale this Sunday
A Krispy Kreme
doughnut fundraiser will be held in front of Safeway and Walmart all day
Sunday. The fundraiser will pay for Rim
Country Middle School and Payson High School students to attend an adventure
field trip to New York City in order to see the Statue of Liberty, World Trade
Center building and Times Square. Cost
is $10 per dozen doughnuts. For more

Jazz concert at Community Presbyterian Church
Jazz saxophonist
Tony Vacca, an internationally known performing and recording artist, will play
on Sunday, July 15 at 2:30 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, 800 W.
Main Street. Vacca has performed and
recorded with such jazz legends as Lionel Hampton, Sammy Davis, Jr., Richie
Cole, Conti Condoli, Irvin Mayfield, John Faddis, The Four Tops, Sam Moore, The
Temptations, The Swingtips, Tony Bennett, Frank Foster, Marvin Stamn, and Doc
Severinson. Vacca holds a B.A. from
Northeastern Illinois University. $5

Taste at the Bridge’ at the Tonto Natural Bridge State Park
Friends of the Tonto Natural Bridge State Park
will present "A Taste at the Bridge," on Saturday, August 4 from 5 to
8 p.m. The early evening setting will depict the Tonto Natural Bridge at its finest
and will showcase western art by local artists.
The festivities will also include wine, light finger food, music,
raffles and door prizes. This will be the only fundraiser by the Friends of the
Tonto Natural Bridge group. Proceeds
will benefit the Tonto Natural Bridge in operations and areas that are not
funded by the State of Arizona.
