Blasting on SR 177 curve realignment project
Highway closed for 20 minutes at noon Wednesday
GLOBE – The Arizona Department of Transportation has scheduled blasting operations at noon Wednesday (Feb. 16) on State Route 177, five miles south of Superior. ADOT is realigning a curve on the highway to enhance safety and is blasting the adjacent slope to provide room for the improvements. The highway will be closed for up to 20 minutes.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, proceed through the work zone with caution and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT will make every effort to minimize impacts to the traveling public during construction. Traffic restrictions may be necessary to complete some work. While ADOT strives to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions during any construction project, there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 5-1-1.
