PHS DECA Club scores big

Forty-six PHS DECA Club students participated in the DECA Central Region Career Development Conference.


Payson High School's marketing teacher, Joe Parone, 
reports that  the school's DECA Club came away with some big wins recently when they competed in the DECA Central Region Career Development Conference in Phoenix.
Some 46 PHS students participated in the one-day conference Jan. 12 and came away with eight first place, 12 second place, and six third place awards. They were among 830 students at the conference held at Phoenix College.
Earning first place medals were Jesus Apodaca, Jesse Barry, Fawn Dugan, Jordyn Fruth, Taylor Goss, Marina Madra, James Potvin, and David Seematter. 

Second place winners were Sara Andersen, Janina Caspar, Haylie Egbert, Madison Flake, Tanner Hintze, Alanna Murphree, Shauna Neal, Kayla Purcell, Josh Petrie, Laura Slatalla, Logan Tsosie, and Eric Vohs. 

Winning third place honors were Jaymie Carlen, Carisa Haas, Alexis Hagler, Aubrey Pond, Mandy Reid, and Bethany Sprinkle.


Garnering medals in the written test were Keith Williams, Tanner Hintze, Sean Ford, James Potvin, Laura Slatalla, Nickolas McMullen, Bethany Sprinkle, Marina Madra, Aubrey Pond, Haylie Egbert, and Rishele Shoults.
 
The next competitive event for these active DECA members is the DECA State Conference in March.

  1. Thank you for reporting on the PHS Deca club. I know my daughter, Kayla Percell, is looking forward to competing in the written event about "How Businesses Can Use Social Media Marketing" in a couple weeks!
