Governor orders flags flown at half-staff at state buildings Dec. 15

Governor Brewer has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset in honor of Army Sergeant First Class (SFC) Johnathan B. McCain on the day of interment which is Thursday, December 15, 2011, at Arlington National Cemetery.

SFC McCain of Apache Junction, died November 13, 2011, in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  He died of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his military vehicle.   He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
