 Festive "New Orleans" Music
Dr Jass & the Heartbeats
Sunday April 1st, 2 pm
Community Presbyterian Church
800 W Main Street, Payson

"Dr Jass" bring a wide variety of musical influences into its basic groove of
funky, contemporary New Orleans street music, including rhythm and blues,
swing, and dixie. Besides the 6-piece instrumentation, four members sing
as well. The group's leader, Dr. Claudio Zamorano, has extensive playing
experiences as a trumpeter leading a New Orleans-styled jazz group for many
years at the Hot Jazz Club of Santiago, Chile'. Obviously, American jazz
has had a major impact upon the choice of music being performed
around the world.

"Dr Jass" features Dale Knighton on banjo and vocals, Suzanne Knighton *
on guitar, washboard, various other noisy devices and vocals, Mike Buskirk
on trombone and vocals, Robert Tarallo on clarinet, Larry Brasen on
upright bass and vocals, Gerry Reynolds on the the drums,
and of course, Dr. Claudio Zamorano on trumpet, piano and vocals.
* Suzanne joined the group after the photo was taken.

This will be quite a show !!

RSVP advised to gerry-reynolds@hotmail.com or 602-619-3355.

Motorists will begin driving on northbound I-17 lanes as work continues on southbound bridge south of Flagstaff this week

The Arizona Department of Transportation is reconstructing the southbound I-17 bridge and ramps, as well as realigning Pinewood Boulevard south of Flagstaff. By the end of this week, the southbound bridge will be closed and motorists traveling southbound on I-17 will be detoured to cross over the median and travel through the work zone using one of the new northbound lanes (please see map for details). All entrance and exit ramps will remain open.

The speed limit will be reduced throughout the construction zone and drivers are reminded to slow down, proceed through the work zone with caution, and be alert for construction equipment and crews.

The first phase of the project, which included the reconstruction of the northbound I-17 bridge and ramps, was completed last year. The southbound bridge is scheduled to be completed this fall. Upon completion, ADOT will have replaced two 25-foot-long bridges built in 1958 with two new bridges measuring 100-feet long.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 5-1-1.

For more information about this project, please contact Senior Community Relations Officer Mackenzie Kirby at 928.779.7554 or mkirby@azdot.gov.  Local media should contact the ADOT Public Information Office at news@azdot.gov  or 1.800.949.8057. Visit www.facebook.com/azdot or www.azdot.gov for more information about ADOT. For more information about ADOT projects and programs across Arizona see the agency's latest blog posts at http://adotblog.blogspot.com.
