Multiple Fire starts on Cave Creek District
Tonto National Forest update, Jul. 11, 2012, 1700 hrs.

 
 
·        Bartlett Fire on Tonto National Forest
6 miles northeast of Bartlett Lake, Ariz. (33°53'14.28"N 111°32'33.72"W)
Date reported: Jul. 10, 2012, 2:45 p.m.
Incident Commander:  Rich Harnden
Cause: Under investigation
Size: 250 acres
Terrain:  Extremely rough and inaccessible
Fuels: Brush and grass
Number of personnel: 25
Resources committed:  1 engine crew was able to access the area by UTV
Resources ordered:
1 Hotshot crew
1 Type 2 IA crew
Summary: 
The Bartlett Fire is burning 6 miles northeast of Bartlett Lake in remote, inaccessible terrain.  Yesterday afternoon a heavy helitanker was used to keep the fire’s spread in check. Extremely rough terrain is preventing helicopter landings of crews near the fire.  Type 1 helicopter and engine crew were dedicated resources today.
           
·        Cooks Fire on Tonto National Forest
12 miles east of Black Canyon City, Ariz. (34° 5'6.72"N 111°56'18.60"W)

Size: 50 acres
Personnel:  A Type 3 crew has been shuttled in and air attack resources are assigned.
Terrain: Rough and inaccessible
Fuels: Brush and grass
 
Summary:  The Crooks fire is burning 12 miles east of Black Canyon City, Ariz. in a rough and remote section of the Tonto National Forest.
 
·        New River Fire on Tonto National Forest
9 miles southeast of Black Canyon City, Ariz. (34° 0'2.88"N 112° 0'12.24"W)

Size: 5 acres
Fuels: Brush and grass
 
Summary:  The New River fire is burning 9 miles east of Black Canyon City, Ariz. in a rough and remote section of the Tonto National Forest.
 
 

·        Squaw Creek Fire on Tonto National Forest
6.5 miles southeast of Black Canyon City, AZ (34° 0'22.32"N 112° 3'21.96"W)
