Rescue in progress - Pine/Strawberry Middle School student injured on the Donahue Trail


Pine/Strawberry Middle School Student Injured on Hike

A Pine/Strawberry Middle School student is currently in need of assistance on the Donahue Trail where he twisted his ankle.

The Gila County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Pine/Strawberry Fire Department of an injured student on the Donahue Trail near Milk Ranch Point in Pine.  Pine/Strawberry Fire said that one of the Tonto Rim Search and Rescue Volunteers is currently with the student and is in need of assistance to get the child out.

Pine/Strawberry Fire is currently responding to the Pine Trailhead along with Gila County Mounted Posse and Search and Rescue Coordinator Deputy Rod Cronk who will supervise the rescue. 

The age of the child is currently unknown.  More information will follow.
